In light of Matt Hasselbeck's hot start and the struggles with the run game, I asked Mike Holmgren if he was inclined to use the pass to set up the run.
"I'm not sure that's ever changed to be honest with you. I think in an attempt to strive for balance in your offense, run-pass balance, I don't think I'd ever use the run to set up the pass but it certainly helps when you're running the ball well and you can shorten second down, third down. We haven't been able to do that with very much consistency at all. I don't think I've ever done that, used one to set up the other. You might set up a play, a particular play, but not as a philosophy."
