Practice is being held today at 1:30. I am working on a lengthy story for our football friday section that has to be in before practice so don't have a great deal of time to blog. But I wanted to provide some Deion Branch comments from yesterday, and how today is going to go a long way in determining if he can play Sunday in terms of his soreness following yesterday's practice. Here are some of his comments:
"I'm just excited just to try to show coach something this week and hopefully he'll let me play It's a little different feel when you're not on the field and you don't feel like you're contributing to the team. I just want to be out there with the guys running around. As long as we win I'll be straight. I'm very anxious to get out there but the thing is you have to be smart and Coach is not going to put me in a bad situation so if it looks good and I feel good then I think he'll let me play."
(On if he could have played last week…) "No. I could have run and just been out there as a decoy. They asked me and I gave them an honest answer."
(On healing his injury…) "A whole lot. I think the rest is the most important thing. I get a little rest and it feels a whole lot better. I kind of pounded it today. Hopefully I'll come in tomorrow just fine. It's Coach Holmgren's decision. I just go out and try to show him a little something every day. The walk through doesn't count so I have to practice and that's his biggest thing. If you practice then you play."
(On the loss to the Bears last season…) "We think about it but it's nothing that we're looking to use as a momentum game. It's in the past, which was last year, different team, two totally different teams. That team went to the Super Bowl last year, I don't know there record but it's not what it was last year, and we're not where we want to be, but we're progressing."
