Initially, Hawks QB Matt Hasselbeck was only supposed to do some light throwing on the side today. But he said he made a ton of progress with his sore ribs between yesterday and today and so he took a big part in practice, taking a majority of the first-team reps.
"The weather was nice, I was feeling pretty good, and so I asked the coaches if I could get out there and do a little more than I normally planned," Hasselbeck said. "They put me through a workout and it went good, and so I took most of the snaps today. It got a little better as I went along."
Hasselbeck said he plays with a flak jacket every game, but he is going back to the one he wore last year for Sunday's game at St. Louis.
"I'm really encouraged with how I felt out there," Hasselbeck said. "Now I have to go see (on film) if I looked good. I felt good, but I don't know if I looked good. But I feel really good. Compared with how I have felt going into games before this is not one of those games where I am wondering if I can make it through this game. I feel as close to 100 percent as I have felt in a long time."
