Game balls went to Kevin Bentley on special teams, Bobby Engram on offense and Craig Terrill on defense.
Walter Jones did not practice. But Mike Holmgren said it was only precautionary and that Walter will play Sunday. Chris Spencer was back at practice and will play Sunday. Will Walter out, there was more shuffling along the offensive line, with Pork Chop getting time at left tackle and Ray Willis at right guard. Holmgren however, said Willis is not likely to get any time along the line in the game.
Mike Green did not practice again because of a knee. Don't yet know his status for Sunday, but an injury to him certainly make an already beat-up unit far less deep, particularly in goal line. Josh Wilson and D.J. Hackett have been ruled out of the game.
I spoke with Brian Russell after practice, and he basically said they are preparing as if Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald are going to play. The scout players wore their numbers all week. If they don't play, they don't change much, Russell said; they don't focus on the run more if the two big WRs are out, they just play like they have prepared and hope you can do a better job against the backups. Interestingly, Russell also said he has not heard a great deal about last year's collapse at this same point in the season. He was not here, obviously, but he said he has heard it mentioned among the players only a few times. Otherwise, they are focusing on beating Arizona and capturing the division title. He was jazzed because in seven years he has never won a division title so to be on the cusp of that accomplishment is exciting.
Jordan Babineaux had an interception while the teams were working on goal line stuff and Kelly Jennings had another interception that earned hoots and hollers from teammates. Otherwise, it was a basic Friday practice with not a great deal out of the ordinary.
By the way, I'm just making sure you are paying attention on the game balls. Lofa got it for defense.
