Just got a call from Dave Boling, who is up at the VMAC, and boy did he have some interesting news. The Seahawks are bringing back 38-year-old Jeff Robinson to be the team's long snapper.
Robinson, as you remember, was the guy the team signed on Dec. 11 last season to replace Boone Stutz. Robinson snapped for the last three regular season games and both playoff games and settled the uneasy snapping situation.
The Seahawks thought they had their long-snapper for this season and future ones when they drafted Tyler Schmitt in the sixth round back in April. Schmitt, though, was placed on the injured reserve on Tuesday and is now out for the season.
So, it looks like the job belongs to Robinson again.
