Well, T.J. Houshmandzadeh will get his No. 84 after all.
The Kansas City Chiefs announced today that they have signed free agent receiver Bobby Engram to a deal. Terms were not disclosed.
Engram played eight seasons in Seattle, developing into Matt Hasselbeck's go-to target in crucial situations. But with the arrival of Houshmandzadeh in free agency, the 36-year-old's days in Seattle were numbered.
Engram finished with a career-high 94 receptions and 1,147 receiving yards in 2007. He asked the Seahawks to renegotiate his deal during the offseason, but the organization refused and he threatened not to report to training camp. However, Engram, a professional, did report, injuring his shoulder blade during the preseason and missing the team's first three games.
Engram finished with 47 receptions in 2008.
