The playing career of former Seattle Seahawks receiver Bobby Engram may be coming to a close after 14 distinguished years in the NFL.
The Kansas City Chiefs released Engram today to make room for running back Kolby Smith on the active roster. Engram was considered a major pick-up for the Chiefs during the offseason, but the 36-year-old receiver's role in the offense diminished over time, and when the team claimed Chris Chambers off of waivers Engram's days became numbered.
He finished with five catches for 61 yards for Kansas City
Engram enjoyed some of his best seasons during his eight seasons as a Seahawk, including a career-high 94 catches for 1,147 yards and six touchdowns in 2007.
