As ESPN's John Clayton first reported, and later confirmed by Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, New England front office executive Floyd Reese may not be a front runner for Seattle's general manager position, as has been earlier reported.
According to Clayton, Green Bay front office executive John Schneider remains a candidate. I had considered Schneider a possible favorite because he previously worked in Seattle.
Florio's report takes it even further, stating that a source told him that perhaps Reese got ahead of himself and may have hurt his chances of getting the job.
"I don't think he gets the job," the source told Florio. "I think he created the entire story. . . . [He] killed himself by blabbing to the media. That was a bad move by him."
