Here's the latest Seahawks-related news from around the league as we count down the minutes to free agency.
I still think it's unlikely, but Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun Times reportedly has a source that told him the Seahawks are in the hunt for Carolina free agent defensive end Julius Peppers. I still don't see Peppers relocating to the Northwest, and the Seahawks don't exactly meet his requirement as a playoff contender, but I guess if Paul Allen is willing to open up his wallet, Peppers is willing to listen.
Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com is now reporting that the Redskins are hard charging for Peppers, and a deal could be done by tomorrow. Stay tuned.
The Seahawks also were supposed to be small-time players in free agency last year, but ended up landing T.J. Houshmandzadeh in the first weekend of free agency.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports high interest around the league in Seahawks free agent receiver Nate Burleson, with he Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers all potential suitors.
The Chicago Bears are on target to strike the first deal of free agency, reports the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs. The Bears are reportedly in negotiations with Arizona free agent safety Antrel Rolle.
Rolle does not have to wait until the official opening of free agency at 9 p.m. because his contract was terminated by the Cardinals on Thursday.
