Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that Seahawks kicker Olindo Mare will sign his one-year $2.8 million franchise tag tender today.
It's a wise choice for Mare, who gets a considerable bump up from his $1.5 million base salary last season.
Florio also reports that New England tight end Ben Watson is headed to Seattle for a visit, a curious development considering I believe Seattle is solid at tight end right now. But I believe Bates does like using two tight end sets in passing situations, so will see where that goes.
A couple other free agents reportedly are headed to Seattle, including San Francisco receiver Arnaz Battle, and possibly Arizona safety Matt Ware, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
