Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that the Cardinals and the Seahawks are discussing contract parameters with San Diego restricted free agent Charlie Whitehurst.
The Chargers tendered Whitehurst at his original, third-round position, so the Hawks or Cardinals would have to give up a their third round pick from this year's draft as compensation if they sign him to an offer sheet.
The Cardinals have two, third-round picks, while the Seahawks do not have a third-round pick this season and would have to make some sort of trade.
The Cardinals are seeking a quarterback to compete for the starting job along with Matt Leinart, while the Seahawks are looking for a backup to Matt Hasselbeck.
