The Seattle Seahawks announced the signing of New England free agent tight end Chris Baker and St. Louis free agent wide receiver Ruvell Martin today.
The Baker signing was reported over the weekend.
Martin was scheduled for a visit with Seattle last week, and has familiarity with the West Coast offense from his time in St. Louis and Green Bay before that. Seahawks general manager John Schneider also is familiar with Martin, who played for the Packers from 2006 to 2008. Martin finished with six receptions for 99 yards in eight games for the Rams last season.
At 6-4, 220 pounds, Martin is a bigger receiver and still is relatively young at 27 yearrs old. Martin has 58 receptions for 848 yards and six touchdowns in his pro career.
