Outside linebacker Ty Powell of Division II Harding University in Arkansas becomes the first linebacker selected by the Seattle Seahawks in this year's draft.
Powell was a D-II, second-team All-American in 2012, leading Harding with 12.0 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks and blocking a school-record four kicks.
Powell posted impressive numbers at the NFL scouting combine, running a 4.64-second 40-yard time, pushing out 28 reps of 225 pounds in the bench press and posting a vertical jump of 37 inches.
At 6-2 and 249 pounds, Powell projects as a Leo defensive end in Seattle's scheme. Powell became the first Harding player drafted since Bruce Baldwin was selected by the Denver Broncos in the fifth round of the 1983 draft.
