[caption id="attachment_17107" align="alignright" width="200"] Michael Bennett[/caption]After taking a trip to Miami on today, Tampa Bay defensive end Michael Bennett is headed for Seattle, where he’ll sign a one-year, $5 million deal to join the Seahawks, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
The Seahawks have not announced the signing, but I can confirm that Bennett is expected to sign after he passes a physical on Friday.
Bennett, 27, started his NFL career with the Seahawks as an undrafted rookie free agent who had a productive preseason for the Seahawks. However, he was surprisingly released on Oct. 10, 2009, and Tampa Bay claimed him off of waivers.
Bennett developed into a productive player for the Bucs, finishing with nine sacks and 41 tackles in 2012.

Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is familiar with Bennett from his time working as defensive line coach for the Seahawks in 2009 and 2010. Bennett, 27, would appear to fill Seattle’s need for a pass rusher from the defensive tackle position.
