First reported by Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports, I can confirm that the Seattle Seahawks plan to hire New Orleans assistant defensive line coach Travis Jones to fill the team’s defensive line coaching position left vacant when to Todd Wash followed defensive coordinator Gus Bradley to Jacksonville.
Jones spent the last five seasons working with the Saints as an assistant defensive line coach. Before that, Jones served as an assistant defensive line coach from 2005 to 2007 in Miami, where he worked alongside new Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.
In June of 2010, Jones entered a plea agreement for his involvement in a real estate scam in Texas, resulting in his suspension without pay for 30 days by the Saints.
