The Seattle Seahawks announced this morning they have placed defensive end Dexter Davis on the season-ending injured reserve list because of a hip issue.
Head coach Pete Carroll had mentioned during Friday's talk with reporters after practice that the team had a decision to make with Davis, who had struggled throughout training camp with the injury and never seemed to get right.
The Seahawks re-signed cornerback Kennard Cox to replace Davis on the 53-man roster. Cox was one of Seattle's better special teams players last year, and with the team's struggles on the field and with injuries to guys like Michael Robinson and Byron Maxwell, expect Cox to be active on Sunday.
