Re-Pete

Quick notes from Carroll's press conference ... in order he addressed them:

--Line coach Tom Cable will miss most of the week after having back surgery Monday. It was an issue he's had for some time that had flared up recently.

--Carroll cited the Falcons' talent across the roster, their balance and discipline. They had the fewest penalties in the league, he said. They also excel in the kicking game and ball protection.

--On the injury front, Mike Robinson is set to practice full-go today, but Byron Maxwell is not expected to practice. Sidney Rice came out of the game without problem. Kam Chancellor is expected to be slow in practice early this week with a thigh bruise. Tackle Jarriel King (ankle) is going to practice this week. "This guy's a terrific prospect," Carroll said.

--He said he understands Aaron Curry's frustration, and he expects to see him battle for playing time. KJ Wright is still expected to start, but Carroll said he considers it a competition. He touted Wright's uncommon savvy and instincts for a rookie. He's a quick study who has made the most of the chances he's been given.

--He's not just concerned about getting the ball more to Mike Williams, but also to Zach Miller and Leon Washington.
