The Seahawks practiced for a little over two hours this afternoon in shoulder pads and helmets, working on goal line, two-minute situations and hurry-up offense.
Linebacker Aaron Curry (knee) and center Mike Gibson (unknown) returned to practice today, while Chris Clemons (ankle) and Marshawn Lynch (unknown) did not practice today.
Others who did not practice nclude linebacker David Hawthorne (knee), linebacker Leroy Hill (knee), safety Kam Chancellor (foot), tight end John Carlson (shoulder), defensive end Dexter Davis (unknown), defensive end A.J. Schable (unknown) and defensive end Pierre Allen (unknown).
Offensive tackle Russell Okung (ankle) again participated in the early portion of practice today, including individual drills. But he did not participate in team drills.
Be the first to know.
In one of the few times I’ve witnessed during practice, head coach Pete Carroll admonished the first-unit defense after witnessing several off sides penalties on both the offense and the defense.
Defensive back Walter Thurmond was impressive today playing the nickel back inside the slot, making athletic plays in breaking up passes to Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate.
But cornerback Byron Maxwell had the play of the day, popping loose a Charlie Whitehurst pass intended for Kris Durham on the run down the right sideline, keeping his feet and gathering the deflection in for the interception.
Seattle will have a walk-through practice in the morning on Thursday and then travel to Denver on Friday.
We’ll talk with Carroll and quarterback Tarvaris Jackson on Thursday.
