The Seattle Seahawks announced this afternoon that they have released punter John Gold and cornerback Ron Parker.
Seattle re-signed receivers Chris Carter and Patrick Williams to replace them on the roster.
Also, Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network is reporting that running back Clinton Portis will visit Seattle this week, fueling speculation that Marshawn Lynch's ankle injury is more serious than we've been led to believe.
Carroll said that Lynch could have played last week if it were a regular-season game, so I view Lynch's injury as more of a maintenance issue until told otherwise.

And I think Seattle bringing Portis in is nothing more than the franchise kicking the tires and getting some information should they have to make a move later on during the season if one of their running backs gets injured.
Portis is the cousin of Seattle third string quarterback Josh Portis.
