I have to admit that the Seattle Seahawks releasing defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson, reported here by ProFootballtalk.com, came as a surprise.
I thought Vickerson and Colin Cole made a good combination inside for the Seahawks. But obviously the Seahawks had concerns about Vickerson's health. He had missed several practices with a groin issue, and Vickerson also had injury concerns with Tennessee. The Michigan State product hasn't played in a full season since joining the league in 2005.
So it appears Seattle swapped Junior Siavii for Vickerson.
Also, the news that cornerback Ross Weaver, waived by Miami, will sign to Seattle's practice squad makes sense.
Weaver, at 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, has the body type at corner Seattle is looking for.
