Report: Jones takes pay cut, saves job

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Seattle Seahawks running back Julius Jones agreed to take a cut in pay, and in doing so saved his roster spot with the team.

Again, this makes sense with everything we've been reporting during training camp. Jones was due to make $2.5 million in base salary in 2010, and if he did not win the starting job, it did not make sense for Seattle to keep him at that salary, with Leon Washington set to make $1,76 million in base salary and Justin Forsett set to make $475,000.

Jones' salary reduction has not been reflected yet on the NFLPA's web site.
