Hawks injury report: Okung moving OK

He moved around OK.

That’s the short version of how rookie Russell Okung fared in his first practice since suffering a high ankle sprain n the team’s second preseason game on Aug. 21.

Sporting a brace and a heavily taped right leg, the Oklahoma State product got plenty of work in on Wednesday.

Now comes the important part – how his leg responds after his first real work in over a month.

Offensive lineman Chester Pitts also saw some time at left guard during practice and seemed to come through Ok.

Offensive guard Ben Hamilton (knee) did not practice. And right tackle Sean Locklear (knee) was a limited participant in practice. Tyler Polumbus took Locklear’s place at right tackle when he wasn’t in there.

For Seattle, LB Leroy Hill (calf/Achilles) is out. LB Aaron Curry (hamstring), OG Ben Hamilton (knee), DT Brandon Mebane (calf), CB Marcus Trufant (ankle) and D.E. E.J. Wilson (knee) did not participate in practice.

OT Sean Locklear (knee) was a limited participant in practice. OT Russell Okung (ankle), OG Chester Pitts (knee) and WR Mike Williams (shoulder) were limited participants in practice.

Williams wore a red jersey and was not involved in contact drills.

For St. Louis, S O.J. Atogwe (thigh), TE Billy Bajema (knee), LB Chris Chamberlain (toe), TE Mike Hoomanawanui (ankle), RB Steven Jackson (groin), WR Laurent Robinson (foot), DE Clifton Ryan (migraines), DT Darell Scott (ankle) and S Darian Stewart (hamstring) did not participate in practice.

S Craig Dahl (head) and RB Keith Toston (shoulder) were limited participants in practice.
