It’s been three years since the Seattle Seahawks had a consistent, effective pass rush. That would be the 2007 season, when Patrick Kerney finished second in the league in sacks with 14 ½, and the Seahawks finished fourth in the league with 45. Since then, Seattle has posted 35 sacks in 2008 and 28 in 2009.
And in a draft where Seattle appeared to address several needs, adding a dynamic pass rusher was one they did not hit on. Instead, the Seahawks will go with leaner guys at defensive end like Chris Clemons and Nick Reed, and try to get linebackers Aaron Curry, David Hawthorne and Leroy Hill coming off of the edge to create more pressure. That said, I thought we would take an early poll to see what you think Seattle’s sack total will be in 2010.
