Hawks to sign QB J.P. Losman

The Seahawks hastily releasing quarterback Mike Reilly makes a little more sense now, as Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting that the team will sign veteran quarterback J.P. Losman.

Nothing is official, but is deal is expected to be reached soon.

Losman, 29, fits the mold of quarterback that general manager John Schneider likes -- a big, strong guy who can move. The 6-foot-3, 220 pounder out of Tulane was drafted in the first round as the No. 22 pick overall in the 2004 NFL draft by Buffalo.

However, Losman never translated his physical talents to wins on the field for the Bills, finishing with a 10-23 record in Buffalo. Losman spent 2009 with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the UFL before finishing the season with Oakland.
