Schmid talks back end of goalkeeper situation

There doesn't seem to be much suspense with the Sounders' goalkeeping situation this season. Stefan Frei seems solid as the stater, Troy Perkins as the No. 2, and here's what coach Sigi Schmid had to say about the No. 3 spot.

"We’ve got Charlie Lyon has been in with us in training – he’s done really well for us right now. We really didn’t keep anybody else. Right now he’s done a good enough job – we’ve been happy with what he’s doing."

On whether the Sounders' reserve keepers will get minutes as S2 keepers: That’s something that we’re still talking about and clarifying it. But we’ll have two keepers with us, and probably out No. 3 keeper will get the time with S2. There might be certain occasions where we want to drop our second keeper down for a game. That’s something we’ll delve into as we move along in the season, but probably our No. 3 keeper would be the S2 keeper.

On draft pick Tyler Miller signing in Germany: We have his rights right now. We made him an offer, and he decided to pursue the thing in Germany right now.
