Bye weekend for Sounders, but busy for MLS

MLSnew15The Sounders returned to training today, but no media access and no club news expected.

But while they are off until their Tuesday night home friendly with Club Tijuana, there's a busy and interesting MLS weekend playing out.

Saturday was the day of scoreless draws, as SKC-Portland, Colorado-NYCFC and New England-Montreal all ended 0-0. Those results leave the Timbers 0-0-3 and the Revolution 0-2-1 after three matches.

Meanwhile, another nice crowd -- 31,072 -- turned out in Orlando, where the a Vancouver goal late in stoppage time sent most of the 31,074 home unhappy: Whitecaps, 1-0.

Looking ahead to today's TV doubleheader,

DC United visits the New York Red Bulls at 2 p.m. on ESPN2, while the San Jose Earthquakes open their new soccer-specific stadium against the Chicago Fire at 4 p.m. on FS1.
