Peter Vagenas probably is more excited about playing Chivas USA than any other Sounder -- due to his background with the LA Galaxy and their rivalry with Chivas.
Yet Vagenas hasn't yet faced the Red and White while wearing rave green.
A lingering knee injury kept him from Seattle’s first visit to Chivas on April 18. And then bad luck stepped in just minutes for the June 6 rematch.
He's hoping to final get to face Chivas on Saturday, when they make their first regular-season visit to Qwest Field.

But when I talked to Vagenas after training today, he was quick to point out that at this stage of the season, the playoff race outweighs old rivalries.
“It’s obviously a different week,” he said. “When I’m used to playing Chivas it’s … a highlight on the schedule because you’re sharing the building with them. So for me, personally, there’s going to be some of that. But at this point it’s important because they’re sitting pretty in the league right now, they’ve got games in hand and they can leapfrog (to second in the West) if they take care of business. (But) we find ourselves in a great spot as well. It’s one of those control-your-own-destinies types of things. We have a great opportunity.”
