FIFA today denied the Republic of Ireland's request to replay their World Cup play-off with France, despite Thierry Henry's admission that he handled the ball in setting up the goal that sends France to the World Cup.
Here's FIFA's thinking: "The result of the match cannot be changed and the match cannot be replayed. As is clearly mentioned in the Laws of the Game, during matches, decisions are taken by the referee and they are final."
