Sounders coach Sigi Schmid implied today that both designated player Freddie Ljungberg (back) and defender James Riley (hamstring) should be available tomorrow when the Sounders host the New York Red Bulls.
On Ljungberg: “He trained yesterday, felt fine coming through training and everything yesterday. Today we just decided to be a little bit cautious with him and so we’ll see about tomorrow.”
On Riley: “Riley came through everything OK. He looks all right. Again we wanted him to go a little bit easier today, so he didn’t do any crossing or anything at the end of the training session. But he said he felt pretty good.”
