Stoppage time goal gets RSL draw

Don Ruiz - Staff writer

Second-half RSL substitute Álvaro Saborío scores on header in the fourth and final minute of stoppage time. And this one goes into the books as a 2-2 draw.

Both teams 1-1-1 after three weeks. Sounders return home to meet Kansas City next Saturday at noon.

Encouraging performance? Or too frustrating for silver linings? (More frustrating draw: This one, or DC at home last season?)

Next up: Kansas City at noon Saturday at Qwest. The Wizards moved to 2-0 today with a win over Colorado.

Weather: Partly Cloudy-and-60-degrees

74th minute: Montero out, former Salt Laker Nathan Sturgis makes his season debut. Ljungberg slides forward alongside Noonan. (Or will it go into the books as an own goal?)

72nd minute: Tyrone Marshall heads in a long free kick cross from Ljungberg. Sounders up, 2-1.

63rd minute: Arlo White does deliver a nice Dairy Queen promo, doesn't he? I'm getting me a caramel blizzard tomorrow.

53rd minute: Diving header by Johnson off a long cross pulls RSL even. Keller had no real chance.

48th minute: Tyson Wahl in for Leo Gonzalez, who made a nice pick in the Sounders corner and then quickly waved himself off.

Halftime: Sounders up, 1-0, in a very entertaining half. Zakuani has the lone goal.

36th minute: RSL's Javier Morales -- arguably the best player on the pitch -- goes off with an apparent right knee/leg injury.

11th minute: Zakuani goal after a nice turn and cross-field pass from Montero. Sounders 1-0.

Noonan starting: Pat Noonan is getting his first start as a Sounder tonight, as a forward alongside Montero.

Pregame: I'm not at Rio Tinto, unfortunately. But I'll be watching along with you, and getting my first solid listen to Arlo White.

I'll keep this open for discussion before, during and after the game. And I'll hop in too, including after with notes and quotes and stats.

For a couple of 1-1-0 teams, a big early game.
