Overview: It was a well-disputed match from beginning to end. In the beginning we had to adapt to the kind of pitch, but little by little we got adapted to the circumstances. We actually capitalized on a good opportunity, and after the halftime we capitalized even better for the second half. We handled the circumstances well, made use of the spaces that the Sounders left for us, but ultimately it was a match that was well-disputed.
On Seattle: Sounders is a very good team. Very strong, very well-organized and knows its sound virtues. It was very important to take the game serious or otherwise we could have been hurt.
On advancing out of group play: Nothing is definitive yet. We have to continue to play seriously and to advance to the next round we have to play like we played tonight.
On Seattle's advantage in shots and shots on goal: They played at home and they know the pitch. We missed possession many times, and in some cases potential shots on goal. But soccer is like this, sometimes it’s not about the quantity, it’s about the quality; sometimes it’s not about the possession, but it’s about effectiveness.
On Fredy Montero: Fredy Montero, of course, is a very important player. We also knew about Steve Zakuani, who didn’t play and has seven goals. That duet is very strong. But we also have a very balanced team, our defense is solid.
