Sounders coach Sigi Schmid has given these health updates on the squad:
James Riley is flying to Columbus today just in case, but there's no certainty yet that he'll play Saturday.
They're hoping Blaise Nkufo should be able to start.
Also talking about the personnel moves outlined below:
On Brad Evans coming off the DL: He's still a little bit of a ways away. We're taking a little bit of a gamble because he's probably a month away at least. But he's a player that is versatile, that can play in the middle of midfield, that can play wide for us as well, and even filled in upfront this season obviously in a pinch. If he can get to a point where he's able to help us -- even if it's off the bench for 30 minutes -- we think he can offer us something that some of the other guys can't because of his versatility.
On the status of Noonan, Hurtado and Vagenas: For MLS games they're out (for the rest of the season). They can still play Champions League and they can play the Open Cup final.
On Nate Jaqua, who suffered a blow to the head in the Real Salt Lake game: It was a little bit of a knot in the back of the head, and they thought that was pretty much all it is. But as we got down to Costa Rica, he continued to have a headache and as a result of that -- to be precautionary because of the possibility of it being a concussion -- it was decided not to use him. He feels good today -- he trained today -- and he's been headache free for the last 36 hours or so.
