Sounders play to 1-1 draw at Columbus

It's gone final: Seattle 1, Columbus 1.

Sounders move to 3-3-4 after 10 games. Next three are at home, starting with the visit by Portland Timbers one week from tonight.

Jeff Parke tells KONG: "It was a sloppy game. I thought we started off the game pretty well. I think in the second half they got the best of us. … That’s the kind of game is was tonight: sloppy, rainy and a battle."

I'll add quotes from both teams in a post above. For now, the unofficial stats:

Attendance: 7,148

Time of Game: 1:50

Weather: Cloudy and 59 degrees

88th minute: Happy 24th birthday to Lamar Neagle of Federal Way, who comes in for Flaco.

Sounders seem eager for whistle, as Crew dominating in scary chances right now.

84th minute: Fucito in, Montero out.

Sub: Columbus sends in Ekpo for Burns. Ekpo has given Leo Gonzalez fits in the past, although I believe Ekpo is playing inside today.

Attendance: Announced as 7,148. Bad crowd, even in bad weather.

65th minute: GOAL, Columbus. 1-1. Shot ricochets behind Keller but cleared by Levesque. Corner follows. Ianni called for pushing Marshall in the box. Renteria gets PK.

61st minute: First sub: Columbus brings in Mendoza for Duka.

54th minute: Yellow card to Leo Gonzalez. He's one from one-game accumulation suspension.

Second half: ... has begun. First 15 minutes could be crucial. It's been a weak period for Seattle, strong for Columbus.

Halftime: Sounders up 1-0 on Montero's second goal of season. Preserved by a couple of nice Keller saves.

Crew hasn't scored in first half this season. But Arlo points out majority have come in the first 15 minutes of second half. So buckle up.

Seventh minute: GOAL Seattle, 1-0. Header from Montero finishes cross from Friberg. The play started with a Montero pass from the center out wide to Friberg.

A lead against Columbus is a precious things, because the Crew don't score much. Their 6-game unbeaten run has been built largely on clean sheets.

Kickoff: We're under way. Crew in yellow/yellow. And Sounders in their new shale/shale, which look pretty clean and cool. (Except, that silver striping across the backs of the jerseys is much more notable and annoying.) Crew, meanwhile, playing without a jersey sponsor this season.

Weather bad ... and so is the crowd.

Lineup:The Sounders are reporting this lineup: GK Keller; D Riley, Parke, Ianni, Gonzalez; M Fernandez, Friberg, Alonso, Carrasco; F Levesque, Montero.

Also Brad Evans out with a quad strain. Sigi Schmid tells TV it's partly to prevent the 100-percent-all-the-time Evans from aggravating what now seems a minor thing. Also says he expects Evans to be ready for Portland next Saturday.

Sounders reserves are Boss, Fucito, Wahl, Scott, Neagle and Hurtado.

Crew going in what they're calling a 4-5-1: GK Hesmer; D Balchan, James, Marshall, Miranda; M Rogers, Rusmir Gaven, Duka, Burns; F Renteria.

Pregame: I've opened this post for all-day discussion of Sounders match at Columbus. Kickoff is 4:30 on KONG and usual radio outlets.

I'll have pregame, in-game and postgame updates here, along with posts on Twitter at the address at left. Please join in our discussion.

For now, TV showing a rainy day in Ohio.
