I'll be back with notes and quotes.

67th minute: Levesque in for Rosales.

54th minute: Montero in for Jaqua. Joins Fucito up top.

Second half: ,,, has begun. No subs.

Halftime: Nil nil. First chunk of half slightly to Sounders, the rest fairly to Fire.

36th minute: Yellow to Wahl. There was a moment when it seemed red was possible.

33rd minute: Yellow to Fucito.

32nd minute: In KONG sideline interview, Schmid acknowledges Chicago has taken the better of the action in recent minutes. He also says the heat isn't the factor it might have been in Chicago this time of year.

First 30 minutes: Entertaining first half hour, with good chances both ways. However, both keepers up to the challenges.

22nd minute: Rosales down apparently in a good deal of pain after hacking scissors tackle by Segares. (Montero warming up just in case.)

First 15 minutes: Very entertaining, free-flowing game so far. Chicago coming out with energy for their new coach, as would have been expected. And really, despite a low-enough point total to get their coach fired, they are not trash: five draws in their last six games shows that they're close enough to hang around with everyone.

10th minute: My story from this morning notwithstanding, there is near-perfect weather in the Chicagoland area ... and an unfortunate number of empty seats at Toyota Park.

Sixth minute: How are Sounders not up 1-0? Wonderful cross by Rosales onto the head of Neagle, who hits its nicely on goal. But Johnson got there for the save.

Kickoff: We're under way -- in nice weather. Sounders in green/green; Fire in red/red.

Lineup: For the Sounders: GK Keller; D Riley, Parke, Hurtado, Wahl; M Evans, Alonso, Rosalesm, Neagle; F Fucito, Jaqua.

Pregame: OK, enough of that whole international soccer thing. Time for some domestic: Sounders at Chicago Fire, 5:30 p.m. We'll keep this post open all night for some hopefully happier comments.
