Henry gets red card in Portland, out for Seattle

New York and Portland played the wildest of 3-3 draws Sunday in Portland. But the big news for local fans is that Thierry Henry was shown a straight red card in stoppage time and therefore will not play Thursday at Qwest Field.

Here's a report on the wild game.

New York also will be without Tim Ream and Juan Agudelo, due to the USA national team in CONCACAF Gold Cup.

However, the USA's elimination of Jamaica should return Dane Richards to the Red Bulls. Similarly, Dwayne De Rosario is back from duty with Canada (and had a goal and an assist vs. the Timbers).

Sounders coach Sigi Schmid admitted Saturday night in Toronto that he had both national and club team reasons to be pulling for the USA Sunday.

Sigi Schmid already was thinking ahead to that Saturday night in Toronto.

"If the U.S. does well, Agudelo won't be there," he said. "So we'll worry about Henry and the rest of the Red Bulls."

And now there's no Henry to worry about.
