Seattle about 4,000 from Open Cup record crowd

More than 27,000 tickets have been sold to the October 4 match between Seattle and Chicago on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. Last year's attendance of 31,311 was largest in the 97 years of the tournament. The previous mark was 21,583 for the 1929 final in Brooklyn.

First kick for the Open Cup final will be 7 p.m. PT and Fox Soccer will televise it nationally. Tickets are available at www.SoundersFC.com, by calling 800-745-3000, all Ticketmaster outlets and the CenturyLink Field Box office.

General manager Adrian Hanauer has said seats will be opened at CenturyLink to accommodate any sized crowd that wants to attend.

Meanwhile, plenty of tickets remain for tomorrow's CONCACAF Champions League match against Herediano.
