Fitness updates: Rosales, Ochoa, Parke

The Sounders have finished training for another day. Coach Sigi Schmid offered these fitness updates:

On Mauro Rosales: "We’ll see. Today was the day he’s done the most. Now we have to see how he recovers tomorrow. We had him in there as a neutral. We still didn’t want him to go all out. The main thing for us is that he’s ready for the playoffs. If we can get him two regular-season games before the playoffs: great. If we can only get him one, that’s the way it is as well. We’re happy with his progress right now."

On Jeff Parke: Good. He went through the entire team warmup and so forth. He felt like he could have done the whole practice, but the protocol right now is extremely conservative so (the trainers) decided no, not today. So he’s got that test they do this afternoon, and that will be the final clearance.

On Sammy Ochoa: He’s getting more minutes. Obviously the reserve game was the first time we were able to push him over a period of time. I think his effectiveness probably went down after the 60-minute mark or so. I think he ended up playing about 75-73. It’s definitely coming around for Sammy. We have Nate (Jaqua), we have Sammy, (Pat) Noonan has played some minutes. Those are some different options we have that can play up front. The rest of the year you might even see Neagle go up top once in a while.
