Here's coach Sigi Schmid's overview of tonight's 2-1 loss to Monterrey:
I thought for the most part the game was a pretty even game. I thought we had some good chances to score and didn’t take advantage of them. And I think we gave up two soft goals. I think they’re a good team. They move the ball around. I think they were content early in the second half to maybe even play to a draw. The first goal was a bad play from our backs in terms of playing offsides that early in the game – which is something that we tell them not to do. And the second goal was a giveaway where we have the assist on the goal. You can’t give away soft goals because you’re not always going to be able to resurrect yourself and score goals at the end of the game and win it.
