Well, it made sense at the time: The Sounders were training in Florida. It seemed like the last chance to take some time away before the start of a competitive season that could last until December. What could happen?
Well, the Sounders could trade two valuable and well-liked young players for Eddie Johnson. And the Sounders Women could sign Hope Solo. But that's about it. Aside from all the games.
Anyway, sorry for being away at such an interesting and active time. However, I'm back now, and should be able to hit the ground running as coach Sigi Schmid will be holding a media conference call at 11 a.m. I'll be tweeting with highlights from that, and then will be back here with the highlights. I'm also eager to come back in with some thoughts about the trade. AND I promise no more week away until the 2012 season is in the books.
