The Sounders went through training today -- mostly for the players who didn't see time in last night's match. And when it ended, it started a four-day break. With their next match still a week from Saturday at Montreal, coach Sigi Schmid decided this was a time for a break, and the team won't return to the practice pitch until Monday.
"Just everybody get a little bit of a rest physically, but also mentally. Just to get away for a while. Sort of like if you see your kids everyday you don’t mind having a break once in a while: not seeing them for a day or two. But I’m sure everybody feels the same way. You just have to get away, a chance for everybody to recharge their batteries a little bit. Right after we come back from this break we go into something like seven games in 22 days or some ridiculous thing."
