This just in from the club:

Seattle Reign FC has named Sam Laity as the top assistant on Laura Harvey’s coaching staff.

Laity holds a UEFA B License and an NSCAA Master Coach Diploma, modeled on the UEFA Pro License. The Plymouth, England native has been coaching and serving as director of the junior academy for Pacific Northwest Soccer Club in Tukwila, Wash. He previously coached locally with Dos FC, Westsound FC and Pacific Premier while also serving as regional staff instructor for the NSCAA.

“I’m thrilled and excited to be working with Laura Harvey and Seattle Reign FC,” said Laity. “Seattle fans deserve the very best, and I’m looking forward to being part of a club that sets the standard on and off the field, in the NWSL and beyond.” A graduate of the University College of St. Mark & St. John, Laity has resided in the Seattle area since 2001. Recently his role with the NSCAA has included studies of the Women’s Algarve Cup in Portugal; English Premier League academy programs at Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea and the English FA; and Real Madrid, Espanyol and Marcett Foundation in Spain.

“Sam has great experience working in all aspects of the game,” said Head Coach Laura Harvey. “He is a local coach who understands the expectations of the fans. His knowledge and enthusiasm will be a major asset to our team.”

Seattle Reign FC is one of eight founding members of the NWSL. U.S. National Team stars Hope Solo and Megan Rapinoe are among the seven international players assigned to Seattle in the allocation process. For more ticket information visit
