The Sounders FC invite fans to plan ahead to avoid traffic congestion and delays due to the closure of SR 520 this weekend. The closure begins on Friday, March 15 at 11 p.m. through Monday, March 18 at 5 a.m. First kick for the Sounders FC versus Portland Timbers is 5 p.m. at CenturyLink Field. General gates open at 3:30 p.m. Other weekend road closures include Yesler Way between Boren and 12th Avenue and a reduction to two lanes on northbound SR 99 starting at South Idaho Street. Also of note, the annual St. Patrick's Day parade departs from 4th Avenue and Jefferson at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Fans are invited to participate in the following match day activities. March to the MatchJoin Sound Wave, the Sounders FC Alliance and fans as they "March to the Match." The March will depart Occidental Park located in the heart of Pioneer Square at the intersection of Main Street and Occidental Avenue South at 4 p.m. and finish just outside the Northwest Gate, where fans can enter the stadium. Soccer CelebrationSoccer Celebration is the name for all pre-match fan related activities. These activities are located outside the northwest gate, within the North Plaza and continue throughout the CenturyLink Field Plaza. This weekend’s St. Patrick’s Day revelers of Pioneer Square will again have added company this year, as the Seattle Sounders FC face off against their bitter rivals the Portland Timbers at Century Link Field.
To celebrate the 10th season of the Cascadia Cup, the Emerald City Supporters, with their partner, Fuel Sports Bar, will host the annual Brougham Block Party. Located at the corner of Occidental Avenue and South Washington Street, this 21+ event will feature a large beer garden, food and full bar, ECS membership and merchandise tables, and raucous chants and songs. Festivities begin at 12 p.m., and covered areas, patio heaters, and extra restroom facilities will make this a comfortable party venue for all Sounders fans (21 and over). Drink specials for Redhook No Equal Amber Lager and Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey will also be featured.
The Emerald City Supporters (ECS) is the largest independent supporters group of Seattle Sounders FC, and can be found at the Brougham End of Century Link Field during everySounders home match.
