It looks like nine of the Santos Laguna players who started Tuesday against the Sounders also started yesterday in a scoreless Liga MX draw with Tijuana.
Here's what Sounders coach Sigi Schmid had to say of the implications of Santos having a domestic league match this weekend while the Sounders were off.
"Obviously, Quintero wasn't too seriously hurt. He ended up playing 90 minutes -- they tried to sub him out in the 93rd, I think. But nine of their 11 guys started. Herculez only went 55 minutes. It was only Estrada and Peralta that they held out or were out for a specific reason. I know Peralta is coming off an injury, so they might have held him out. But obviously those guys put another 90 minutes on their backs, so we've got to make sure that we can take advantage of that, possibly in the second half."
