Sounders FC took a lead, lost a lead and then regained the lead on their way to a wild, 3-2, win over the Vancouver Whitecaps before a crowd of 53,679 Saturday at CenturyLink Field.
Lamar Neagle of Federal Way figured in all three of Seattle’s goals.
In the ninth minute, he slipped a pass through the Vancouver defense to Andy Rose, who took the ball behind the Whitecaps defense and beat goalkeeper Brad Knighton to the far post to put Seattle ahead 1-0.
After Vancouver took the lead on a pair of Camilo headers, Neagle drew a foul in the penalty area. Servando Carrasco nailed the penalty kick that drew Seattle even in the 70th minute.

The game-winner game 11 minutes later, when Martins slipped a pass in front of the Vancouver goal, and Nagle ran on and finished from close range.
The win moves Seattle to the top of this season's Cascadia Cup race, 1-0-1. Vancouver falls to 0-1-1. Portand is at 0-0-2.
The Sounders extended their league-high streak of 39 unbeaten games (31-0-9) when scoring the first goal.Seattle got its fifth win in its last six games once again using a makeshift lineup, due to usual starters being unavailable because of injury, suspension and national team duty. The midfield in particular had a U.S. Open Cup flavor with Alex Caskey, Rose and Carrasco joining Mauro Rosales. But they made the most of their chances, with Rose and Carrasco providing two of Seattle’s three goals.
Several of the missing Sounders are expected to be available again by the time Seattle returns to action June 22 at Real Salt Lake.
