The Seattle Sounders FC and artist Dale Chihuly will present the National Spire, a unique piece of artwork, to representatives from U.S. Soccer in a halftime ceremony on June 11, the team announced today.

"Dale and Chihuly Studio have become synonymous with Seattle," said Sounders FC owner and general manager Adrian Hanauer. "We are proud to partner with him and present this original artwork as a gift to U.S. Soccer."

The Sounders FC and Dale Chihuly have been partners since 2009. Prior to each international friendly, representatives from the opposing team are presented with artwork symbolizing their visit to Seattle.

For the U.S. Men's National Team, Chihuly has created the National Spire, based on his Venetian series. The artwork, in red, white and blue, stands approximately 17" high and measures 5" in width at its base.

"It is an honor to continue my relationship with the Sounders and to create artwork for the U.S. Men's National Team," said Chihuly. "Leslie, Jackson and I congratulate the team on 100 years of playing the game."
