The Sounders trained today at Starfire, and now have the rest of the week off before returning next week to prepare for their June 22 game at Real Salt Lake.
Coach Sigi Schmid said the break comes at a good time:
"I think we needed some time off," he said. "It comes at a good point. It’s kind of in the middle of the season, and guys can get away a little bit."
He also said that it's possible that his players who are away on national team duty -- Brad Evans and Eddie Johnson for the USA, and Mario Martinez with Honduras -- could be back in their club colors by that next game at RSL.

"Everything always depends on how many minutes they’ve played for the national team and stuff like that," Schmid said. "Our expectation is obviously we could use them when we play Salt Lake, but then after the Salt Lake game we don’t play again until July 3, we would probably used a little bit of that time – because they didn’t get a break – to maybe give those guys a break. Where the other guys might be here and train, we might give those guys a few days off at that point."
