Here's the news from MLS:
Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Camilo Sanvezzo was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for week 17 of the 2013 MLS season.
Camilo Sanvezzo scored two goals and added an assist to propel the Whitecaps to a 3-1 win over Chivas USA Wednesday night at BC Place.
Sanvezzo opened his night with an assist on Jordan Harvey’s 47th minute equalizer as he managed to do just enough with an awkwardly bouncing ball in the penalty area to give Harvey a chance for a strike.

Eighty-two seconds after his assist, Sanvezzo notched his own goal when he made a quick cut inside and fired a shot into the bottom left corner past Chivas USA goalkeeper Dan Kennedy.
The Brazilian striker got his second goal of the night in the 81st minute when he found himself with the ball at his feet just inside the penalty area. His shot took a deflection but still found the back of the net to secure a 3-1 win for his team.
The Vancouver Whitecaps FC are back in action this Saturday, June 29th, when they travel to RFK Stadium to face D.C. United at 7 p.m. ET.
The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media. More information and membership information can be found at http://www.soccerreporters.com/.
