Sporting director talks possible personnel moves

On potential moves in the coming transfer window: We’re always looking. But I think now as it starts to get closer we’re looking at some specific positions. We’d have to make some moves in order to do it. So those are conversations that we have whether it’s right for the team and right for us to try to make a push to try to improve the team in the window. It’s all timing. It’s timing with the players, but for us we’re at least looking. We look at multiple positions, but usually key positions up the spine for teams, they look at where impact players can come in. So those conversations are going on. (Assistant coach/scout Kurt Schmid) is overseas, I went to Europe a few weeks ago, and then to South America recently.

On Martinez negotiations: That will be a player that we’re negotiating with now. A decision will have to be in the next five days with him, and I think those are ongoing negotiations. We’ll have a decision pretty shortly on him.

On the club's interest in Levante central defender David Navarro: David’s a good player. He’s a guy we watched several times play because he was teammates with Oba (Martins). He’s a move I don’t know if we’ll be able to make or not. I think he’s a player who would do well in MLS.
