The Sounders went through very light training today at Starfire.
Afterward, coach Sigi Schmid updated the health of his team. The good news is that midfielder Osvaldo Alonso is expected to be full-in training tomorrow and to be ready to return at San Jose on Saturday.
However, new health issues have arise, including likely surgery for Alex Caskey.
"Marcus (Hahnemann) is day to day. We’ll see how he does," Schmid said. "He felt his hamstring a little bit in the reserve game. We’re just trying to be careful with that. Andy Rose the same. Alex Caskey, we’re going to make a decision this week. He’s had some ankle issues and it started to get better and this weekend was sort of the test: Is it really getting better or not? And he struggled with it in the game, so we’ll probably make a decision early this week. … Alex’s situation might require surgery, but it would just be sort of a clean-out, so it might only keep him out for a couple of weeks. And then the hamstrings might be just a week to two weeks, max."
