Sounders will add to attendance lists Sunday

With a crowd in the 67,000 range expected Sunday for the Sounders-Timbers match at CenturyLink Field, the Seattle is likely to become the site of three of the top 10 MLS all-time crowds. It may also be possible that they'll top their current record for soccer attendnace.

Here are some attendance-based notes from the club:

Attendance Records Broken The Sounders FC faithful continue to set the standard for soccer support in America. Having set the average attendance record in each of the first four seasons, Seattle is poised to raise the bar again in 2013. Sounders FC has hosted some of the biggest crowds in MLS history, including four of the top 25 single-game attendances. Sunday night's match is sure to feature another memorable and record-breaking crowd as more than 66,500 are expected to attend. The largest crowd for a soccer game in the Pacific Northwest was 67,052 at the Manchester United friendly in 2011, and the largest attendance for an MLS match was 66,452 in last season's Portland game. The top mark in MLS history was 92,650 for the New England-Chivas USA game in 2006, which featured a doubleheader with Barcelona-Chivas Guadalajara. Seattle's 2013 average is just shy of last year's record mark of 43,144, and would have ranked in the top 10 in the English Premier League (8th), Serie A (3rd) and La Liga (4th) and 12th in the German Bundesliga last season. Seattle hosted the top single-game crowd of the season when 53,679 attended the June 8 win over Vancouver, which would have been the second-largest attendance in the opening weekend of the EPL last weekend.
